Where does the time go?
Wow. December 2 was the last time I posted. Where does the time go. So much has happened in the last several months, I don't know where to start...
I'm going to make this blog a priority again so I can catch up again. I'll go ahead and start with my most recent class, and then I'll go both forward and backward to catch up you readers on my life.
I just completed my first 'real' animation class. It was primarily a character design class, but we did do a couple of pieces of animation in it.
The class had an overarching theme to it. We were given a rough outline of a game. The characters needed were male protagonist, female protagonist, antagonist, and a celebrity.
I did create a familiar looking character (at least for two of my readers.) He is a city police detective who is tied into cold. Yes, that's right, Detective Scott Frost was adapted for this game. He worked out pretty well for what I was hoping to do.
My female protagonist is also from my City of Heroes stable of characters. I took Crescendo Cat and turned her into the former familiar of the antagonist. She turned against her former master when she developed a sense of morality.
My Antagonist is a beautiful woman with great magical ability. She is the Scarlet Sorceress. She is intent on gaining power so she can pull her former love (a mage) out of the safe haven he found from her and then fully destroy him. She has lost the ability to feel remorse, and feels there are no limits.
For the celebrity, we were supposed to take a celebrity and then change them into some sort of inanimate shape that you could still tell was him/her. I chose Hayden Christensen from the Star Wars films. I changed him into a two-by-four because he was such a wooden actor in the love scenes with Padme. Here he is.
The fun part of the Hayden part was yet to come. I got to animate him going from one expression to another. I took him from a sneer to look of terror. It was a lot of fun. I'm pretty proud of my first attempt here. I hope you enjoy it.

Hm. My animated .gif didn't transfer. I'll have to work on that; probably have to change it to a .avi picture. Drat.
Wow...thanks for the post. It's been so long since the last one that I havn't been checking daily like I had been. : )
I am looking forward to more updates with results from your classes.
